Classic Collections

For my November blog I have decided to champion the Classics scale models. Previously aimed more at the young collector the sculpts didn’t quite have the detail or dynamism of the traditional scale. Intended more for play they often had a more ‘practical’ four legs on the ground stance.

Recent years have seen a change in the way collectors collections (that’s not easy to say!) have moved towards other scales and they take up a lot less space than traditional so are certainly a very good option for the spatially challenged! I recently showed a lot of my classics at my own show, Hot to Trot Model Horses Tingley Tinsel live and was able to show in all OF classes with only one additional box to fit into the car!

We are seeing more diverse models such as the rearing Mustang who has so much detail and has been produced in some beautiful colourways. The lovely Morgan sculpt, ‘Fairfax’ has also made his debut as well as decorators such as Mermaid. My particular favourites are the new Arbian and American Saddlebred. The sculpts just keep getting better and I am really enjoying adding to my collection.
